The Horizontal Property Regime in the real estate sector in Panama is a form of ownership that is applied to real estate complexes, where buildings are divided into independent units and rules and regulations are established for the use and administration of common areas. Regarding the legal structure, Law 31 of 2010 regulates the Horizontal Property Regime in Panama. This law establishes the rights and obligations of owners, as well as the procedures for the constitution of the Board of Owners and decision-making. It also establishes rules for the maintenance of common areas, payment of maintenance fees, and conflict resolution.
